Our History
Data Foundry has deep roots compared to most colocation companies. Colocation is still a new industry, as many major colocation providers were established in the early 2000s. Data Foundry was established in 1994 as one of the first 50 ISPs in the U.S. and opened its first Internet Data Center (IDC) in 1995. The company finally began providing colocation services in 1999. Our experience as an ISP made our company the service-focused colocation provider it is today and formed our extensive background in networking and data center operations.
How It All Began
Established in 1994 as Texas.Net, Data Foundry is one of the first Internet Service Providers in the United States. During our 25 year history, we have supported thousands of enterprise companies in virtually every industry, including high performance computing, energy, financial services, healthcare and technology firms.
Managed Growth
Data Foundry’s strategy during these formative years was to become the premium Internet Service Provider in every market served. In 1995, we moved our headquarters to Austin, Texas. Operations were established in Houston (1996), Dallas (1997), and Ft. Worth (1998).
