Austin, TX – OCTOBER 20, 2011 – Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center outsourcing, secure colocation and disaster recovery solutions, marks its 17th anniversary with the grand opening of Texas 1 on October 20, 2011. Guests have been invited to celebrate this milestone during a special celebration including food, music and tours of Texas 1, the company’s flagship data center.
Founded in 1994, Data Foundry started out as the first Internet Service Provider in San Antonio and one of the first 50 Internet Service Providers in the United States. Seventeen years later, the company boasts one of the most redundant, connected, and secure data center and disaster recovery solution in Texas. The purpose-built, 250,000 square foot carrier-neutral data center is the first colocation facility on the 40-acre master-planned Data Ranch data center development in Austin.
Built from the ground up with the sole purpose of serving as a data center, each level of Texas 1’s infrastructure features multiple levels of redundancy. Concurrently maintainable power, cooling, and network feeds ensure customers 100% uptime. Unlike many modern data centers, Texas 1’s power is fed by two independent substations, showcasing an underground power feed enclosed end-to-end in a concrete duct bank. In addition, the chilled water cooling efficiently handles high density computing needs up to 50 kW per cabinet. With support for over 17 network carriers, customers can select their preferred provider at more competitive rates.
“Texas 1 is among the best data centers in the world and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate 17 years of service in the industry at this new state-of-the-art facility,” states Edward Henigin, Data Foundry CTO. “Our many years of owner-operator experience give us a winning combination of quality service and unmatched technical expertise that we provide to all of our customers.”
Data Foundry operates data centers in Austin and Houston and owns private Internet networks in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. Data Foundry currently supports the stringent IT requirements of thousands of hosting and service providers, as well as enterprise companies across a variety of industries including energy, healthcare, financial services, and technology firms.
